Who we’re looking for:

 

Reporting to the Director, Health, Safety, Security and Environment, the Specialist, Environment will support the team to deliver on environmental expectations using strong environmental knowledge, combined with an understanding of the operating and regulatory environment. We are looking for:

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage environmental compliance and reporting for multiple facilities in British Columbia and/or Alberta in line with permit/approval requirements.  
  • Review, and maintain internal procedures, processes, and standards.
  • Coordinate environmental contractors conducting environmental monitoring.
  • Coordinate site characterization, impact assessments and/or remediation related to air and water quality and quantity.
  • Monitor the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants and industrial storm and surface water management processes.
  • Perform assessments to support the planning and design process of water, storm water, wastewater, infrastructure, and natural water course flood, erosion, and other land drainage issues.

What you bring:

 

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety or related field.  
  • A relevant and recognized Environmental Professional designation
  • 8+ years’ relevant environmental experience.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations, industry standards and best practices.  
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer products.
  • Experience conducting and reporting thorough investigations.

 

Preferred

  • Completion of Professional Registration or Certification (P.Ag., P.Bio., EP).  
  • Experience using defined processes for managing environmental risks.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $120,000. Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the experience, location and qualifications of the successful candidate and will be aligned to internal equity.
