We’re looking for a temporary technician to join our all-star team. We’re looking for:

What you’ll do:

Here is a sample of what your workday may look like:

 

  • Operate all areas of the Plant Complex following established operating procedures and guidelines to meet the contract demand and corporate expectations for quality, efficiency, EH&S and cost. 
  • Maintain safety standards in the Plant, follow agreed practices and procedures, and comply with all regulations. 
  • Maintain compliance with environmental permits by following agreed practices and procedures and manage process upsets emissions and spills to mitigate environmental damage. 
  • Optimize Plant operations to achieve maximum efficiency and lowest costs through careful operations, continuous improvement of the operation, and performance of minor maintenance activities. 
  • Assist in completing work assigned to maintenance team to achieve maximum reliability and lowest costs.
  • Follow all aspects of the Unifor 686B CBA and be capable of working all 686B shifts.
  • Navigate Microsoft suite applications (outlook, excel, word, powerpoint and teams).
  • Navigate SAP suite applications (Success factors, Hana, concur).
  • Follow work management requirements.
  • Preparing equipment for maintenance (purging, isolation and LOTO).

 

Safety sensitive requirements include (but not limited to): 

  • Safely drive to remote locations using radio-controlled roads.
  • Make critical, safety-focused decisions related to gas plant operations, equipment, machinery, and substances.
    • Inability to make safe decisions may pose a risk to yourself, other employees, and the public.
  • Operate various heavy-duty equipment and machinery throughout the workday.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and control operating plant and field equipment.
  • Apply all controls outlined in the NRM EHS Manual, including required personal protective equipment (PPE), as applicable.
  • Be able to use SCBA/SABA equipment.
  • Be physically fit to perform rescues and travel throughout the plant, including stairs and ladders, and perform tasks such as lifting pails and moving drums.
  • Work independently while conducting plant inspections.
  • Follow all HR policies and procedures.

What you bring:

Required

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or 5th class power engineering certificate and Refrigeration Plant Operator Certificate.
  • Able to be fit for duty and work in a safety sensitive position.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • 3+ years' operations experience in the oil and gas industry.

 

Preferred

  • Completion of all GPO modules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Team player that can work with operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Experience in remote work camp environments.

Hourly Rate:

$55.42 plus allowances and premiums. Total compensation is administered under the collective agreement. 

 

Comments:

This position is a 12-hour workday, rotating 14 on / 14 off.
