Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a senior level resource to join our all-star team. We’re looking for:
- A problem solver who gets how things connect: You’re someone who dives into data, breaking down complex problems, and finds logical, efficient solutions. You’re the type of person who thinks in systems - seeing the big picture while making sure all the moving parts fit together smoothly. You naturally connect the dots, anticipate challenges, and find the best way through.
- A people person: We need someone who’s a natural when it comes to building relationships—whether it's with customers, teammates, or anyone else you work with. You know how to connect, listen, and make people feel heard, especially when things get tough.
- Someone who has a strong attention to detail: You consistently demonstrate precision and accuracy in your work, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly without overlooking critical components. Your skill in juggling various responsibilities enable you to balance competing priorities effectively, supporting team goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Someone who puts safety first: You prioritize safety in every task, recognizing that it's not just a requirement but a responsibility. You follow protocols diligently, stay alert to potential hazards, and proactively address unsafe conditions. Whether it’s performing a lockout/tagout, completing safety checklists, or participating in drills, you lead by example and help foster a culture where safety is second nature.
- Flexible mindset: You’re curious and flexible - the Swiss Army knife of capabilities. You thrive in situations where there isn’t always a playbook and love coming up with creative ways to tackle challenges.
What you’ll do:
Your primary focus will be ensuring maximum operability, reliability, and efficiency of our NGL and condensate pipeline systems throughout design, commissioning, startup, and ongoing operations.
A typical workday may include:
Operational Readiness & Commissioning Focus
- Evaluate pipeline designs (PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulics, etc.) specifically for real-world operability — including startup, shutdown, normal operations, upset conditions, pigging, maintenance access, and control philosophy.
- Identify and resolve design gaps, risks, or issues that could impact safe and efficient operation of the liquids pipeline.
- Lead or support commissioning planning and execution activities, including development of operating procedures, startup sequences, and troubleshooting plans.
- Work closely with field operations, control centre, and commissioning teams to validate assumptions and ensure the system is truly ready for safe, reliable startup and long-term operation.
- Assess throughput limits, hydraulics, and potential bottlenecks with an operator’s eye toward daily performance and optimization.
Design Review & Technical Assessment
- Review engineering packages for NGL and condensate systems with a strong emphasis on operational practicality, maintainability, and safety.
- Recommend practical improvements that enhance reliability, efficiency, and ease of operation.
Risk, Integrity & Change Management
- Conduct gap analyses and participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and Management of Change (MOC) processes from an operations perspective.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and integrity programs to protect long-term pipeline operability.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Ensure designs and operations align with CER, BCER, AER, and CSA Z662 requirements, with a focus on operational compliance and audit readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide senior operational guidance to engineering, projects, integrity, and maintenance teams.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement of liquids pipeline operations.
What we offer:
- A culture of continuous learning and mentorship from the best in the business (and fun!).
- The chance to make a direct impact on a major new liquids pipeline project in the Montney.
What you bring:
Required
- 15+ years of industry experience in liquid pipeline operations, with a strong emphasis on NGL and/or condensate systems.
- 10+ years of direct experience with NGL/condensate pipeline operations, including commissioning and startup activities.
- Proven ability to review designs and identify operability, reliability, and operational risk issues.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and provincial pipeline regulations (CER, BCER, AER) and Canadian standards (e.g., CSA Z662).
- Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, isometrics, alignment sheets).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in a pipeline operations environment.
Preferred
- Direct field operations or control room (SCADA) experience with liquids pipelines.
- Experience developing or reviewing operating procedures for pipeline systems.
- Background in pipeline hydraulics, optimization, or simulation tools.
- Professional designation (P.Eng., CET, etc.).
- Experience in pipeline design or project engineering from an operations perspective.
If you’re a senior liquids pipeline professional who loves making complex systems simple, safe, and reliable to operate — especially through commissioning and startup — we’d love to hear from you!
