Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a senior level field engineer to support the NEBC connector. We’re looking for:

  • A problem solver who gets how things connect: You’re someone who dives into data, breaking down complex problems, and finds logical, efficient solutions. You’re the type of person who thinks in systems - seeing the big picture while making sure all the moving parts fit together smoothly. You naturally connect the dots, anticipate challenges, and find the best way through.
  • Someone who is adaptability in dynamic environments: You remain effective and focused in changing field conditions, responding constructively to shifting priorities, constraints, and unforeseen challenges. Your flexibility allows you to quickly recalibrate strategies and embrace new approaches, ensuring continued progress and success regardless of external pressures. This adaptive mindset supports both personal and team resilience, driving performance in fast-paced and unpredictable settings.
  • A collabortive team player: You’re a collaborative force, seamlessly working within cross-functional teams and sharing knowledge to drive collective success. While you instill trust and encourage input from others, you’re also confident in voicing your ideas, taking the lead when needed, and ensuring the group stays focused on its goals.
  • Someone who has strong judgment and professional accountability: You demonstrate sound judgment in diverse field situations, carefully balancing safety, quality, schedule, and cost considerations when making decisions. You recognize when to escalate risks appropriately, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively and that the highest standards of professionalism are maintained throughout all aspects of your work.

What you’ll do:

Here is a sample of what your workday may look like:

  • Provide field engineering support to Project Managers and Construction Teams to safely deliver projects on scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Support safe and efficient construction execution in accordance with approved designs, specifications, permits, and HSSE requirements.
  • Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with project standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering documentation.
  • Provide timely technical support to resolve field issues and minimize schedule and cost impacts.
  • Coordinate RFIs, design clarifications, and field changes with engineering service providers and contractors.
  • Support constructability reviews and identify opportunities to improve safety and execution efficiency.
  • Communicate field progress, risks, and emerging issues to the Project Manager and project team.
  • Support construction and commissioning activities in alignment with NorthRiver’s Project Delivery Model (PDM) and values.

What we offer:

  • A culture of continuous learning and mentorship from the best in the business (and fun!).

What you bring:

Required

  • 5–10 years of experience in pipeline construction, field engineering, or energy infrastructure project execution.
  • Experience supporting pipeline, facilities, or energy infrastructure construction projects.
  • Engineering degree or technical accreditation in Processing, Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting field construction activities, including installation, inspection, and commissioning.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards in Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, field execution processes, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, inspectors, and engineering teams to resolve field issues.
  • Experience working on CER, BCER, and AER‑regulated projects.

Preferred

  • Experience working within an owner’s organization or EPC/EPCM environment.
  • Experience supporting pipeline construction or gas facility installation projects.
  • Experience with CER‑regulated projects.
  • SAP experience is an asset.
