Who we’re looking for:
- A problem solver: You excel at analyzing data and breaking down complex problems. - You are a solid engineering practitioner: You consistently produce thorough, accurate documentation, calculations, and design materials that meet professional standards and project requirements.
What you’ll do:
Here is a sample of what your workday may look like:
- Support the Measurement Management Program (MMP) ensuring accurate and reliable measurement and related processes, including the Pressure Control and Over Pressure Protection (PCOPP), Regulatory Compliance, and Leak Detection Programs.
- Support the Tie-In and Measurement Point Change processes for customer owned facilities, coordinating internal and external resources, reviewing designs, overseeing field work, and providing technical guidance to support Commercial strategies.
- Lead the Gas Quality program investigating and resolving issues for NRM’s pipelines and facilities.
- Day-to-day troubleshooting of general measurement problems including volumetric discrepancies and equipment failures.
- Develop and maintain efficient and compliant measurement periodic maintenance (PM) plans.
- Provide technical support and knowledge to NRM stakeholders – this may include Customers, Engineering, Operations, Volume Accounting, Commercial, Projects, Regulatory.
- Review, prepare and update project justifications, cost benefit analyses, management of change rationales, Measurement Schematics, P&ID’s, PFD’s, Control Philosophies and SDK’s.
- Perform technical assessments and identify measurement risks and elevate them through the NRM Risk Management process.

What you bring:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and/or Engineering Technologist, or;
- Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee registration with APEGA and EGBC. Technologist certification, with ASTTBC and ASET will be considered.
- 2-5 years’ experience directly related to the design and operation of upstream or midstream oil and gas facilities including meter stations, pipelines, processing plants, and compressor stations.
- Collaborative team player, self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated technical writing ability such as Engineering Assessments, memorandums, reports, etc.
- Class 5 drivers license for field work, with rural driving experience being an asset.
Preferred:
- Understanding of Alberta and British Columbia measurement regulatory requirements. (BCER, AER)
- Understanding of measurement standards, guidance and recommended practices. (AGA, CSA, ASME, API, etc.)
- Experience with custody petroleum metering and analytical design and operation including hydrocarbon liquids.
- Experience in pressure control system design and operation.
