Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a Director, Corporate Reporting to join our team. We’re looking for:

What you’ll do:

Here is a sample of what your workday may look like:

 

  • Lead and manage the Financial Reporting function, including Corporate and Asset Accounting, SOX Compliance and Accounts Payable teams. Provide guidance and support while driving effective team performance.
  • Champion all aspects of the corporate reporting function to ensure the provision of complete, accurate and timely financial information. Review executive reports on financial results, including operating metrics, business drivers and variance explanations. 
  • Oversee the provision of accurate financial information for ad hoc requests for Tax, Treasury and other functions and respond to regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Lead external reporting deliverables, including Brookfield requirements and quarterly Financial Statements and MD&A for our lenders. 
  • Ensure that reports, filings and documentation comply with the company’s regulations, professional standards and IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Conduct research and analysis of complex and technical accounting matters in relationship to accounting policy and disclosure requirements. This includes analyzing alternatives and providing recommendations on the preferred option. 
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and other functional teams involved in special ad hoc projects.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, assists with development, documentation and testing of effective management of controls.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Operations, Commercial, Engineering, HR, Corporate Development, IT and external auditors to support seamless collaboration.
  • Lead efforts to foster continuous improvements of financial systems through optimization and enhancements.
  • Drive the design and execution of team projects and initiatives including quarter end and year end external and management reporting, process documentation and data management.
  • Steer the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with senior leaders to align financial plans with strategic objectives.

What you bring:

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. 
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (ex.IFRS) and financial reporting regulations.
  • Capability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. 
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders. 

 

Preferred

  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite and SAP system. 
  • Knowledge of the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, along with a strong understanding of upstream operations including facilities, operations, and key value drivers.
